Senior Dance Instructor Training – ISDC26 Latvian Dances

Come and deepen your senior dance skills at an inspiring training weekend in Tanhuvaara on January 4–5, 2027!

The beginning of 2027 will begin with dance, learning, and community, as senior dance instructors and enthusiasts gather in Tanhuvaara to explore the new senior dances published at the ISDC 2026 Latvia congress.

The training offers an excellent opportunity to update your skills, get new ideas for directing, and network with other senior dance enthusiasts. The training is aimed at those who have completed basic senior dance training.

You can also join the course just for the joy of dancing. without instructor training!

Course schedule

Monday 4.1.2027

• Training from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Lunch and dinner are included in the course day.
• In the evening, you can relax at Tanhuvaara Sport Spa.

Tuesday 5.1.2027

• Training from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• The course day includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• The course ends with dinner at 4:30 PM.

The trainer is: Erja Paakkari, senior dance trainer and developer.

Training content

During the weekend we will get acquainted ISDC 2026 Latvia Congress to new senior dance choreographies that have been published and current issues in senior dance.

After the training, the participant will:

• can dance and direct dances from the ISDC26 Latvian dance material
• master the key steps, grips and patterns
• can read dance instructions and direct dances for a group
• knows the structures of senior dance activities in Finland
• identify their own strengths and areas for development as a supervisor.

Course material

The course uses the ISDC 2026 Latvian dance material (instruction booklet and music sheet) produced by the Finnish International Senior Dance Association and the Finnish Senior Dance Association.

The price of the course material is 40 €.
Course materials are purchased on site from the instructor at the beginning of the course. Payment methods are cash or MobilePay.
