Let the music and movement take you away - a weekend full of emotion and tango.

Ruskatango is a combination of the magic of Argentine tango, a communal atmosphere and autumnal well-being in the beautiful landscapes of Tanhuvaara!

The Ruskatango weekend program includes various Argentine tango workshops, dance lessons and body care. Participants will be divided into groups based on skill levels and interests on the first day.

In addition, the weekend program includes: Milonga dance event on Friday and Saturday evenings, the opportunity for a sauna evening at Tanhuvaara's lakeside sauna and relaxation at the Sport Spa.

The weekend dance teachers are: Pasi and Maria Lauren, Timo Hakkarainen and Marjo Kiukaanniemi, and Roger Castellano and Giselle Catica-Lujan.

The event is organized by a dance club from Kuopio. Tango Alegria association

The Program

The program begins on Friday at 16 p.m. with a welcome ceremony and division into groups.
The program ends on Sunday at around 15.30:XNUMX PM with a final meeting, after which it is possible to relax at Tanhuvaara Sport Spa.

Weekend is full of magic with Argentine tango and Milonga evenings!

Ruskatango weekend program includes different various Argentine Tango workshops, dance Lessons and body care. Participants are divided into different groups according to skills and interest on the first day. Also there is Milonga on Friday and Saturday, opportunity for traditional Finnish lake-side sauna and swimming in the purest water in the world!

The weekend begins on Friday October 16rd with a welcome event and group division and ends on Sunday October 18th in the final meeting. After the meeting there is also an opportunity to relax in our Sport Spa.

Teachers for our Ruskatango are Pasi and Maria Lauren, Timo Hakkarainen and Marjo Kiukaanniemi, and Roger Castellano and Giselle Catica-Lujan.

Event is arranged by dance club Tango Alegria association from Kuopio.

Weekend teachers

Pasi and Maria Lauren

Pasi and Maria are skilled and warm-hearted Argentine tango multi-talented dancers. They have been Finland's top tango teachers for over 20 years and have performed at all the major tango events during these years. In recent years, Pasi and Maria have also appeared on stage as soloists with the Kuopio City Orchestra and at the Helsinki Aleksanteri Theatre.

Pasi and Maria's teaching is based on solid basic technique and an understanding of movement and dynamics, focusing on improvisation, musicality and contact. They master a range of different tango styles, both close and open, rhythmic and lyrical tango, traditional and nuevo to various musics, as well as pop tango. They use, among other things, structural analysis of tango nuevo, the Alexander technique and extensive knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology in their teaching.

Maria has a degree in dance teaching, majoring in Argentine tango. Pasi has decades of experience teaching martial arts. In addition to tango, they dance swing, ballroom, salsa, and other social dances.

In 2017, together with Arttu Artkoski and Carina Quiroga, they founded La Fabrica del Tango, a dance school specializing in Argentine tango, in Klingendahl, Tampere.

Timo Hakkarainen and Marjo Kiukaanniemi

Timo and Marjo have been dancing Argentine tango together for 15 years. They run the Tango Theatre Kiuta, whose works have been performed in 11 different countries.
The couple has been teaching tango all over Finland since 2011.

Although Timo and Marjo's main interest has always been to use Argentine tango as the basis for their dance theatre performances, they also appreciate the genre as a social dance. The basis of their tango teaching is natural dance posture, musicality and the rhythm of Argentine tango.

fast-paced and fun.

Roger Castellano and Giselle Catica-Lujan

Roque Castellano is an Argentine tango and folk dancer and teacher who lives and works in Europe. His extensive dance background and deep musical understanding have made him a versatile and expressive artist. His work is particularly appreciated for its clear pedagogy, respect for tradition, and strong musical interpretation.

Giselle Gatica Luján is an Argentine tango and dance artist who began her career as a child in San Luis, Spain, with Spanish dance. Giselle's dance combines elegance, sensitivity and precise musical expression. Her movement is both refined and lively. As a teacher, Giselle is known for her clarity, warm approach and ability to encourage each dancer to find their own expression in the embrace of tango.

The course is a liberal arts education program, which is regulated by the Liberal Arts Education Act (632/1998).
