Gentle Saturday – a wellness weekend for recovery, light and inner renewal

The pace of everyday life accelerates, responsibilities pile up, and stopping is easily the last thing we do. Yet that is often what we miss most – a moment to breathe, relax, and listen to ourselves.

Gentle Saturday wellness weekend is an invitation to step outside of the hustle and bustle. For three days, we will descend together into a bubble that calms the nerves, nourishes the body, and clarifies the mind, where nothing is more important than your well-being.

Spring is a time of renewal, light, and inspiration. It offers the perfect moment to stop and ask ourselves: “What do I need right now?” This weekend you will have the space and support to find the answer.

“We are physical education instructor students and we are in our second year at the Southeastern Finland University of Applied Sciences. We got to know each other with this group last fall when we started our studies in Savonlinna.🌟

It all started last fall, when our course “Sports services and the implementation of sports services” set out to build a wellness event called Gentle Saturday. Our team consisted of eight sports instructor students from our class. Starting from our own idea, we created the entire event ourselves. Our event was organized on November 23rd last year from 12-16 pm. Our day-long event included: gentle body care, relaxation exercises, a workshop to support recovery, a shared tea time, deep relaxation and a raffle.🍂

Based on this event we organized, we wanted to set bigger wheels in motion and got the idea to create our own wellness weekend.🤎 In the picture on the left you can see Siiri Hietikko, next to Ninni Lehto, Kaisu Holopainen ja Elina Poutanen. Here comes the upcoming Gentle Saturday wellness weekend!”


The course is a liberal arts education program, which is regulated by the Liberal Arts Education Act (632/1998).
