Toni Roponens appointed principal/CEO of Tanhuvaara Sports Institute
Toni Roponen has been elected to the leadership of Tanhuvaara Sports Institute. He will serve as both the principal and CEO of the institution. Roponen will start in the position on May 3.5.2021, XNUMX. Roponen most recently served as the head skiing coach at the University of Denver, from where he just returned to Finland.
Roponen's recruitment is related to the changes made in Tanhuvaara, where the positions of training manager and CEO were combined due to personnel changes. – Our training manager moved to other positions in January and our CEO Erkki Kauppinen is retiring, says Tanhuvaara's chairman of the board Heikki Hamalainen.
Tanhuvaara's recent years have been challenging, and the coronavirus has not made them any easier. - We have had to adapt all our operations after revenue collapsed, especially due to the coronavirus restrictions. Unfortunately, we have also had to hold cooperation negotiations, says Hämäläinen.
In challenging times, leadership is especially needed. In addition to Roponen's diverse background and education, Hämäläinen also considered Roponen's strong leadership experience and managerial skills.
