You will get to know the country's culture and people in a completely different way than an ordinary tourist.
Traveling abroad and learning on the job with Erasmus+ project funding is a unique opportunity.
You can initially apply for short internships abroad through us. Working abroad is highly valued when looking for a job.
Employers almost automatically rank higher on the list those who have had an internship or worked in another country.

Erasmus+ periods and activities in Tanhuvaara
The international courses at Tanhuvaara Sports Institute receive funding from the European Union's Erasmus+ program.
In Finland, the Erasmus+ National Office at the Finnish National Agency for Education is responsible for the administration and implementation of the Erasmus+ programme.
Tanhuvaara has been granted Erasmus accreditation until 2027, which guarantees receiving Erasmus+ funding annually.
Accreditation is a sign of the quality and sustainability of operations.
This funding is used to financially support international periods for students and staff.
What does Erasmus+ support enable?
Erasmus+ support makes financial support possible making an international period possible for every student, regardless of their financial situation.

- individual support depending on the destination country.
The amount of travel allowance is affected by the distance between the departure and destination city.
Individual support is granted to the student for each day of the period abroad. The amount of individual support is affected by the price level of the destination country.
Are you looking to learn about working life or studying abroad?
Tanhuvaara's goal is for approximately 6-10 students and 3-4 staff members to complete an international period during the calendar year.
The student periods are either
- periods of working life or
- periods at a foreign educational institution.
Working life periods most commonly occur in students' second or third year of study.
In this way, the knowledge and experience acquired from previous studies and periods of working life in Finland can be best utilized and the most can be gained from the periods.

- Tanhuvaara strives to constantly grow its international cooperation network in the form of both workplaces and educational institutions and to offer both students and staff opportunities to learn during a period abroad.
- The aim of the sessions is to develop, among other things:
- Professional expertise
- Networking
- Language skills and the courage to speak a foreign language
- Get to know the new culture and sports industry there
- Develop self-confidence and self-awareness through periods abroad
