Tanhuvaara Sports Institute is a versatile center for exercise, well-being and education, offering services for all ages.
The activities are managed by the Tanhuvaara Foundation, whose mission is to maintain the sports institute and act as an attractive center for physical education and sports education.

Diverse sports and wellness services for all ages
Tanhuvaara is a center for exercise and well-being, with activities for people of all ages and fitness levels.
For children and young people:
We organize popular sports camps and other sports events throughout the year. The camps offer a variety of sports and experiences that support the physical development and social interaction of children and young people.
For adults:
Wellness courses aimed at adults, such as Women's Well-Being Weekends, yoga courses and dance events, offer an opportunity to break away from everyday life and focus on your own well-being.
For seniors:
Tanhuvaara has received a special assignment from the Ministry of Education and Culture to develop senior exercise. The Always at Your Best Age exercise courses and dance courses are favorites of seniors. We have also developed the Alli project, which aims to inspire the 60+ age group to a more active lifestyle.
For families:
Family holidays with sports offer the opportunity to spend quality time together, focusing on exercise and well-being. Tanhuvaara's Sports Packages combine exercise, outdoor activities and fun experiences.
Cradle of athletes – Tanhuvaara and competitive sports
Tanhuvaara offers top-class conditions for competitive athletes, especially in athletics, ice sports and shooting.
In athletics, we specialize in throwing events, and Tanhuvaara serves as one of the regional training centers.
Our ice rink (Tuukka Rask Arena) and our FIFA-quality football stadium offer first-class training conditions for athletes of various sports.

In Tanhuvaara, physical education education is part of the Finnish education system, and we invest in the high level of education of teachers and high-quality teaching materials.
We offer education leading to a basic degree in physical education as well as adult education in the field of physical education.
In recent years, we have paid special attention to nature and adventure sports.
In this regard, our training offering also includes weekend courses that combine nature and exercise in a unique way.

The lakeside sauna and several swimming spots on the shore of Lake Suurjärvi offer a place to relax close to nature.

Tanhuvaara is located just 10 kilometers from the center of Savonlinna, which is known for its beautiful lake scenery and cultural events.
You can enjoy the famous lörtsy at Savonlinna Market Square or experience the lake scenery from aboard a Saimaa steamship.
During the Opera Festival, Savonlinna offers an international atmosphere and bustle, but it is always nice to return to the peace of Tanhuvaara.
